Love U 2

Our journey began with a deep understanding of the struggles faced by individuals in underserved communities. Our founders grew up in the heart of Chicago’s West Side, surrounded by both love and hardship. Born into families impacted by gang culture and systemic barriers, they witnessed the deep divide between law enforcement and the community.

Despite these challenges, they chose to see beyond labels—understanding that both gang members and police officers were people shaped by their circumstances. Determined to be a force for change, Lynn became the first African American female officer in a historically segregated suburban police department, breaking barriers and building bridges where they were once torn apart.

Lance’s journey has taken him through several Head of Security roles, driven by his passion for creating safe environments. While leading security at a high school, he noticed a troubling pattern—students labeled as “bad” were often neglected. Determined to make a difference, Lance went above and beyond to support these students and help deter repeat offenses.

Through these journey’s, they discovered a powerful truth: love has the ability to unite, heal, and inspire. This realization led to the formation of Love U 2, a nonprofit dedicated to making love the foundation of all human interactions, especially mirrored in our youth.  

Lynn and Lance created the LYFE (Living Young, Free and Educated) program. LYFE is a mentorship initiative that supports youth based on their unique life situations and goals. It’s designed to guide them toward emotional maturity, helping them make thoughtful personal and financial decisions, and ultimately empowering them to lead more stable, successful lives.
